Featuring our Farmstead eggs, breads, sweet and savory tarts, meats, vegetable entreés, salads and desserts.

About Millstone Market
Millstone Market is the collaborative effort of local community leader, Matilda Kistler and self-trained Chef Sara Hord, who with her husband Mark, own Millstone Meadows Daylily Farm.
Their friendship began over five years ago when Sara became the chef at the former King Street Café. Prior to this, her career ventured from Atlanta, Chicago, California, Santa Fe and finally back to Asheville and the Morganton area.
Matilda's long time dream of having a local source for fresh, organic gourmet foods and their shared concern for the environment led them to create Millstone Market and Millstone Kitchen (private dining by reservation only).
"Sara and I have always been concerned about the environment." Matilda said. "We had been traveling to Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Asheville in search of organic foods and ingredients and decided that we should just open our own store. Not only would the best organic and natural ingredients be available to us, we would make it convenient to purchase gourmet organic foods and all natural products in downtown Morganton."
The Market, with a decidedly French-market atmosphere, opened in May 2008 at the South Green Street, Morganton location. Millstone Market - “Food for people with a conscience!”
